Logo Usage
The logo should appear on every communication unless the acceptance mark is used. The Discover Network logo should be used on all business-to-business communications. It should never be used in place of the acceptance mark in consumer pieces.
Placement
The logo must appear in the lower, right-hand corner when used, preferably on the cover or first page of multiple-page communications.
Clear Space
Allow at least the height of one "D" of clear space around our logo (as shown below) to protect and emphasize our identity.
Minimum Size
The minimum size of the orange glow logo is 1"; otherwise the solid logo should be used and never appear smaller than 0.75". Minimum 1" with Orange Glow Logo. Minimum 0.75" with Solid Logo.
Registration Symbol
The registration symbol must always appear after "Discover" in a logo. The symbol is placed correctly in the provided logo files.
The Glow "O"
The "O" in "Discover" has been developed to become a recognizable icon. The orange sunrise from early Discover Financial Services advertising has evolved into an orange glow. This treatment was developed to simplify, modernize and differentiate the Discover Financial Services brand and personality. By using this icon consistently, we can establish it among consumers as a symbol of the Discover Network.
The orange glow "O" may not be used outside the logo for any reason. Do not use filled Os or glow Os in text (headline, subhead or body copy) or in type treatments. The glow should not be imaged or laser imprinted. In this instance, a solid version of the logo should be used.
Use the "black glow" logo when it is not possible to use the preferred two-color logo
Use the solid black, reverse white or PMS 877 silver logos in instances where it is impossible to maintain the gradient in the color logo, such as premium and laser printing
Use solid logos when the logo will be smaller than 1" in width
Keep the registration symbol ® after "Discover" as shown in the logo
Allow at least the height of one "D" of clear space around our logo to protect and emphasize our identity
Always scale the logo proportionately
Always use the logo in business-to-business communications
Use only the solid reversed logo on an orange background
Don't:
Modify the logo in any way or create alternate logo versions
Fill in the orange glow so that it appears as a solid orange circle. Orange should be used ONLY in the "orange glow" version.
Use the orange glow alone outside the logo
Allow the logo to appear in solid orange
Obstruct the logo with type or imagery
Manipulate the orange glow or the logo text in any way
Include products, services or department names as a part of the logo. Type treatments can be used instead
Use the orange glow as an "o" in text or headlines, as a graphic or as the dot in .com, an exclamation point, etc.
Contain the logo in a box or card shape
