Reciprocal acceptance agreements with major international payment networks overseas along with partnerships between PULSE and other networks or acquirers outside the U.S. are creating broad new opportunities for our business partners and our cardholders. Discover Network has entered into reciprocal card acceptance agreements that allow our issuers, acquirers, merchants and cardholders to tap into the reach, acceptance and revenue potential of other established card networks around the world. Our cardholders can use their networks. Their cardholders can bring their purchasing power anywhere a Discover Network Card is accepted. Major networks that have entered into such alliances are:

PULSE is one of the nation's largest ATM/debit networks serving more than 4,400 banks, credit unions and savings institutions. It links cardholders with nearly 260,000 ATMs, as well as POS terminals and retail locations nationwide. Currently, PULSE is implementing a program to enhance its international ATM network footprint in targeted countries. This strategy emphasizes partnering with other networks and acquirers to develop reciprocal relationships that will expand ATM acceptance for participating financial institution cardholders. Targeted acceptance priorities are being established based on the travel patterns of U.S. citizens-an approach that will help reduce potential fraud. ATM
